Emerging Playwrights is a play-writing competition sponsored by Riverwalk Theatre. The competition is open to high school students in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to write short one-act plays and submit them to the competition. Five plays will be selected for production and each author will receive a $1000 prize.

Our Emerging Playwrights competition is open for the 2023–24 school year
for high school students (grades 9–12) in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
There is no entry fee.
Judges will select five scripts in May 2024.
Each of the winning authors will receive a $1,000 cash prize
and have their winning plays presented at Riverwalk Theatre in the summer of 2024.
