Outside of community theatre you may have seen Sage in his former High School theatre productions such as Newsies (Jack Kelly), Cinderella (Prince Christopher), and Anne of Green Gables (Gilbert Blythe). JT Tosolt (any/all) - Bartholomew / Ensemble
JT is so excited to be in their first mainstage Riverwalk musical! You may have seen them previously in Riverwalk’s Trail To Oregon (2023) or Fabulation (2022). You’ve most likely seen them running Bare Bones Improv on Tuesdays with Mani Collazo Coca!! They’d give you the ad, but Mani probably beat them to it. They’d like to thank and go “mwah” to their friends, their family, their loving partner, the Gaymers, and their two cats who couldn’t care less. Nathan Tykocki (he/him) - CaiaphasNathan is excited to make his RWT on-stage debut with Superstar, but he is certainly no stranger to Lansing theatre. Mani Collazo Coca (she/they) - Priest / Soul Girl / Ensemble
Naomi “Mani” Collazo Coca has managed to step away from Bare Bones Improv for juuust long enough to take part in her second Riverwalk Theatre musical! You may have seen her onstage as Marcy in Ravenscroft, Hippolyta in Midsummer Night’s Dream, a Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show, or as an improviser with Bare Bones Improv. Since we’re on the subject, Bare Bones hosts the “open swim” improv at the Riverwalk Theatre from 7-9pm every Tuesday night! No experience necessary to join, and your first session is free! What was I doing again…? Oh right, hope you enjoy the show! Elaina Coscarella (she/her) - Disciple / Ensemble Elaina is thrilled to return to Riverwalk’s after appearing as Lauren in Kinky Boots. An occupational therapist by day and dance teacher by evening, Elaina is passionate about travel, dance, and reading. Austin Cox (he/him) - Thaddeus / Ensemble Austin has loved singing his entire life, but up until recently has been hesitant to sing in front of strangers. To help him overcome his stage fright, Austin's therapist encouraged him to perform. He worked up the courage to audition for Jesus Christ Superstar at the Riverwalk Theatre. Austin was feeling confident about singing but was terrified to dance. He danced his booty off anyways and ended up being cast in the ensemble because, in the words of Director Josh Martin, "he tried so hard." Austin continued to try hard and is now writing this bio because he hasn't been kicked from the show yet which he thinks is pretty cool. This is Austin's first show, and he's very grateful for all the amazing humans that have helped create this show. Austin would like to dedicate this performance to Utah, Storm, Lulu, and Kelsey for always being a beacon of light to help him find his way home when he's lost in a dark sea of thoughts. Also to his therapist for teaching him he can do hard things. Ta'vion Doss (he/him) - James the Lesser / Ensemble
Ta’Vion will be playing in the ensemble in his first show for Riverwalk Theatre! He is super excited to be given this opportunity by Josh, Kelly and Kait, and thanks them dearly. He would also like to thank his family and friends for making a commute from Eaton Rapids to come watch! Lewis C. Elson (he/him) - Pontius Pilate Lewis C. Elson, most recently seen on stage in Wait Until Dark, The Importance of Being Earnest and Lustful Youth, is looking forward to playing yet another horrendous historical figure in Pontius Pilate. He'll attempt to sound at least decent next to the wonderfully talented cast assembled. Off-stage, Lewis enjoys spending time playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends and wasting the hours away playing video games. He'd like to thank Sally & the cats for their support. Riley Hirai (he/they) - Priest / Ensemble Riley Hirai from Tallahassee, FL. He has his Bachelors in Voice Performance from FSU and works as a Barista at a local coffee shop. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support in everything they do, this year incredible cast and creative team for their inspiration and energy brought to every rehearsal every night, and to the audience for supporting this phenomenal show and community. Art is political. Art is good. Continue supporting the arts. (@janushoang) Tess Klygis (she/her) - James the Greater / Ensemble Tess is thrilled to be back for her second show at Riverwalk Theatre! She would like to thank her friends at EOG and the knee pads from Karyn's Dance Place for their support during this show. |
Diane Cooke - Producer- Diane is thrilled to be working with Josh & company on this amazing show! She still has this soundtrack on vinyl from her High School years and is excited for this Riverwalk production! She loves the local theatre community and can often be found involved in some way with many different productions. She thanks you for coming out and for supporting the Arts - they are important, and "a very human way of making life more bearable" (kurt vonnegut)! She sends much love out to her entire family - especially to Bruce for always supporting her - "No matter how they tossed the dice" - for 41 + years!!
Rachel Daugherty - Sceneographer Rachel is excited to help bring Jesus Christ Superstar to life through paints and colors. This will be her second show in the role of Sceneographer. Amanda started doing costumes in high school for some of the school shows. After high school she took a very long break, until her daughter got her back into theatre. After being on stage for a few shows, she was asked to help with costumes on one of her daughter’s shows, a year later she was asked to be the costumer on a show and the rest they say is history! Amanda has costumed shows at several local high schools, for multiple shows at Riverwalk, Great Escape Theater and The Revue. She has a Thespie and a Barney for Bell, Book and Candle Costumes, an Excellence Award for Addams Family costumes (her favorite costumes ever) and a Sutton Foster Ovation Award for costumes, from The Wharton Center, for Charlotte High School’s production of The Little Mermaid. This year she took the plunge and directed at Riverwalk for the first time, with the Black box production Ravenscroft! Ellison Hall - Lighting Design Ellison Hall is honored to design Jesus Christ Superstar at Riverwalk Theatre, a show that explores faith, doubt, and humanity through powerful music and light. He views the show as his “biggest project yet” and has given his all to the production. Ashley Hampton - Costume Assistant Ashley is a therapist with a side passion for working backstage. Ashley has assisted with costumes on many shows in the Lansing area. Doing so has inspired her to learn to sew. She has designed costumes for Riverwalk theatre for several shows including Hairspray, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Importance of Being Earnest. She would like to thank her mentor Kristine Maier, for fostering and growing her love for costuming. She is excited to be helping out with the Jesus Christ Superstar costume team. Josh Martin - Director Josh is excited to get back to the theatre, last being on stage in Mary Poppins with Evolve Theatrics in 2023. He’s also been on stage for Merrily We Roll Along (PCTC), Guys and Dolls (SLT), Matilda (ET), and Falsettos (PCTC). This is also his first time back directing since Flaming Idiots at the Riverwalk in 2011. He would like to thank his wife Nicole (who’s directing her own incredible show for Dwight Rich) and his two kids, Jack and Wendy, for all their support and love! Karyn Perry - Choreographer

Her most recent shows were The Drowsy Chaperone and Ride The Cyclone. Karyn is happy to be working with Josh and this very talented cast and crew. Kelly Schalter - Assistant Director / Digital Designer Kelly has been a frequent enjoyer of Lansing theater for decades–with brief forays into actual involvement, like costuming for RENT at Riverwalk in 2016, and digital design for Guys & Dolls (Concert Version) at Starlight Dinner Theater in 2022. This is her first time assistant directing, and she's thankful to Josh and the cast and crew for their patience as she figures it out. She can't wait for everyone to see the way this brilliant cast has brought life into this well-known story, humanizing Jesus as a messiah, not just as a mascot. Rae Schalter - Sound Designer Rae is currently a senior at Holt High School, and has done sound for around 3 years. They are very excited for the opportunity to participate in a theater outside of school. They can’t thank their family enough for being such friggin nerds that they get to have so much support around theater. |
